Huobi Exchange to Launch Blockchain Smartphone in September

Huobi cryptocurrency exchange has announced its entry into the blockchain-based smartphone ecosystem with the Acute Angle mobile phone which is built by Whole Network, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) project partly funded by the exchange. Acute Angle will be officially unveiled on September 11, 2019, and Huobi Token (HT) holders will be able to purchase it with just $515 worth of HT, according to a press release on September 3, 2019.

Huobi Launches Blockchain Phone

As stated in its press release, Huobi Global is collaborating with Whole Networks to launch a new blockchain-based Android smartphone named Acute Angle.

The team plans to officially unveil the smartphone on September 11, 2019, the same day Whole Network’s native altcoin, NODE will be listed on Huobi Prime and users will be able to purchase the highly functional blockchain and Android-based phone with Huobi Token.

Commenting on the impending launch of Acute Angle, Livio Weng, CEO of Huobi Global noted that the company firmly believes that blockchain phones will play an important role in the broader adoption of the nascent technology.

He added:

“As the industry develops and as innovations like 5G become increasingly integrated into our telecommunications systems, we believe more and more crypto communities will be interested in trading and transacting on mobile devices. This move is our first step to meet those users’ needs,”

Intricate Features of Acute Angle

At just $515, the team says the Acute Angle blockchain phone is built with crypto traders in mind and it comes with several exciting features that stand it out from other blockchain smartphones from competitors like Sirin Labs, Samsung, and HTC.

Acute Angle comes with a programmable notification system that alerts the user when certain crypto price movements occur, even when the phone is locked.

That’s not all, it also features an in-built crypto wallet app, a wide range of pre-installed blockchain apps, a dedicated blockchain app store loaded with decentralized applications (dApps) and users will receive NODE token airdrops when they use the phone or interact with the crypto community.

Interestingly, the team has hinted that future versions of the Acute Angle blockchain phone will support 5G network connection plus other functions.

Huobi remains one of the crypto exchanges dedicated to fostering broader adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Earlier in August 2019, BTCManager informed that Huobi had integrated MakerDAO and Compound Protocol in a bid to promote decentralized finance (DeFi).
