A recently published post on the TrustWallet blog outlined founder Viktor Radchenko’s predictions for Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and the space as a whole for the year 2020. In the article, Radchenko asserted that DeFi has great potential and could become the next ‘killer app’ for the space. “We just need to get the user design correct,” he said.
He also stated that the cryptocurrency space will see a lot of experiments within the DeFi space in 2020, all of which will have a tremendous effect on crypto-adoption.
“With its incentivized and direct network participation, it will help build communities and secure the whole network in a decentralized way.”
Radchenko also said that price was not important to him, pointing out that what could be done with the technology to solve humanity’s problems was more important. “I am very confident that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are here to stay,” he said, adding that “blockchain will have the biggest impact on our society since the Internet.”
“Our industry can only grow and when an industry grows, the price usually grows with it.”
The TrustWallet founder also explained one of the major issues to emerge — unreadable crypto-addresses that nobody can remember. According to Radchenko, despite different blockchain naming solutions being implemented, they are not compatible with each other and cause a dilemma for users.
“We want to resolve this by giving them a unique name that will work with every address within the Trust Wallet Ecosystem.”
He also said that decentralized exchanges (DEXs), staking, borrowing, lending, prediction markets, and Futures are just a first glimpse into what DeFi could become, adding that most current solutions are not easy to use and are bad for organic adoption. He also said that we need to have easy-to-use software right from the start, as well as good educational tools for the space to grow.
“We can’t get distracted and must focus on what we can influence the most — writing better software for our users.”
When asked about BNB, the exchange token by Binance, TrustWallet’s founder said that he expected it to grow alongside the exchange’s ecosystem in 2020, ultimately becoming bigger than Binance itself.
“There is already a large community behind it, and that community is steadily growing. 2020 won’t be any different!”
