Canon EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II user manuals released – confirms no 24fps video

When Canon announced the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II cameras recently, a lot of people were wondering whether or not it would shoot 24 frames per second. Canon has now released PDF versions of the user manuals for both cameras, and they both seem to confirm that neither camera will shoot 24 frames per second at either 4K or 1080p resolution.

Both cameras are pretty similar in many respects. They both have a 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, both have the Canon DIGIC 8 image processor, they both have a 3″ 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD, and they both shoot the same video resolutions and frame rates.

For 4K, your choices are basically either 25fps or 29.97fps. For shooting 1080p, you also get the option of 50fps, 59.94fps, 100fps and 119.88fps slow motion.

While this framerate issue won’t affect some users, it will be quite disappointing for other users, particularly vloggers or low budget Canon DSLR filmmakers who shoot at 24fps and might have been hoping to replace their EOS 80D with an EOS 90D. Although, the decision to not include 24fps is not all that surprising.
