Canon Officially Announces EOS M6 Mark II And EOS 90D; Arriving This September

After several leaks of their existence last week, Canon has officially lifted the veil off the EOS M6 Mark II and EOS 90D cameras. More importantly, the camera are set to launch in Malaysia next month in September.

We’ll start off with the EOS M6 Mark II. Canon has made several improvements with this model over its predecessor. Speed-wise, Canon has managed to double burst shot speed from 7fps to 14fps in continuous shooting mode. “RAW Burst Mode” is also added as a new feature, allowing the camera to capture RAW images at 30fps.

Moving to the DSLR, the EOS 90D had their own improvement as well. Being a DSLR does mark a slower speed in terms of continuous shooting but Canon is still able to bump up the speed up to 10fps.

Additionally, the Japanese camera-maker has also made a few tweaks to the layout of the ergonomic buttons as well. The same autofocus joystick found in the higher-end DSLRs is also found in the EOS 90D, making it a nice touch for quick control access.

Regardless of the model, both cameras bear several similarities; they sport the same 32.5MP CMOS APS-C sensor, have the same Digic 8 image processor, and both are capable of shooting 4K at 30fps.

The cameras also feature a USB-C port, while their wireless connectivity is handled via a built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi module, enabling users to facilitate quick transfers. Both cameras are also capable of shooting at 1/16000th of a second using the electronic shutter with dual-pixel autofocus. Oh, and both cameras have 5,481 selectable points.

As mentioned at the start of the article, Canon Malaysia will be officially be bringing in the EOS M6 Mark II and EOS 90D to Malaysia next month, albeit at different dates. The EOS 90D will be the first to arrive on 12 September, while the EOS M6 Mark II will arrive on 26 September.

On a side note, Canon will also be launching two of its Zoom Trinity RF Lens. Specifically, the RF24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM and the RF15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM. As for pricing, Canon Malaysia says that it will divulge that information at a later date.
