IOTA doesn’t use blockchain technology, instead, they employ the Tangle protocol. This brings about high levels of scalability, fast transfers [involving MIOTA] and great security. Essentially, IOTA works on the foundation of distributed ledger tech, but they aren’t centralized like XRP.
Two days ago, Julie Maupin of the IOTA Foundation spoke on how IOTA can contribute and establish a safe environment for numerous tribes. Recently, a poll was conducted by Weiss Crypto Ratings, which has gathered over 3,100 votes worldwide. IOTA seems to be a favorite, as the popularity of this project exceeds that of Bitcoin. Even though the king coin has existed for more than a decade, we should not negate different kinds of application in the field involving cryptocurrencies.
Prior to this, IOTA had unveiled a $5 million grant for research tied to Coordicide. They have also partnered up with Trive.Me.
IOTA is ranked at #19, below Chainlink but ahead of Cosmos in the market. For now, the altcoin is fluctuating. The price dropped at a rate of 0.10% in the course of the past 24-hours. The trading volume recorded is $5.695 million, whereas the supply has 2,779,530,283 MIOTA coins in play. At present, the total market cap of IOTA is $730.749 million. As of this moment, MIOTA is priced at $0.262904.
