Nestlé to enforce full transparency has announced to pilot new blockchain technology in collaboration with OpenSC. OpenSC is an innovative blockchain platform that allows consumers to track their food right back to the farm.
Initially, the program will trace milk from farms and producers in New Zealand to Nestlé factories and warehouses in the Middle East. Later, Nestlé will test the technology using palm oil sources in the Americas. Moreover, these pilots will allow Nestlé to analyze how scalable the system is. OpenSC has developed a platform to give anyone, anywhere access to independently verifiable supply chain data.
